Bio

Eugenia Vanni (Siena,1980) trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and the NABA in Milan. Focusing on the questions of process and pictorial space, her practice explores the viewing of the painting using the elements that comprise pictorial techniques and their sup-ports. Museums and galleries that have hosted her shows include: Italian Cultural Institute (New York), MAN (Nuoro), Museo Marino Marini (Florence), Casa Masaccio (San Giovanni Val d’Arno), MAC (Lissone), Museo Internazionale e Biblioteca della Musica (Bologna), Villa Pacchiani Santa Croce sull’Arno (Pisa), Museo di Villa Croce, (Genoa), Santa Maria della Scala (Siena), Galleria Fuoricampo (Siena). In 2011, she won the Santa Croce Graphics Prize awarded at Villa Pacchiani in Santa Cro-ce sull’Arno (PI) curated by Ilaria Mariotti. She has also won the 2022-2023 Edition of the PAC2022-2023 - Piano per l’Arte Contemporanea promoted by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture. She is currently a Professor of Vi-sual Arts at LABA in Florence and tutor of Visual Research for the Master’s degree in Digital media art at Marangoni, Florence. Selected as one of the Queen Sonja Print Award nominees, Oslo. Together with the artist Francesco Carone, since February 2016 she has been directing the Museo d’Inverno (seasonal contemporary art events) at Contrada della Lupa in Siena.
